Yersinia enterocolitica bacterial infection is most often transmitted by eating contaminated food such as undercooked pork, or through contact with an infected animal.
It’s presence in humans is characterised by stomach pains, diarrhoea and fever but can escalate to more serious conditions.
Treatment is generally not with a course medication but with hydration, nutrition and rest.
There are known to be more than 30 different serotypes, with several homologous between multiple yersinia bacterial types such as yersinia pestis.
Serotypes O:3, O:8 and O:9 responsible for the majority of human infections, with diagnosis commonly via detection of the O:3 serotype due to the prevalence in human cases.
We offer highly purified antigens to these most common serotypes:
These antigens feature a long shelf life of 10 years from date of manufacture and have been qualified by ELISA and SDS-PAGE methods.
